About us
Scholaria is an independent guide to private schools across Europe. We bring every private school we can find in official registers into one comparable catalogue — not only international schools for expatriate families, but the local private schools most families actually choose between.
What makes us different
- Breadth. Lists of schools come from official registers and open data: the Department for Education in England, the Ministry of Education in France and Italy, the school directories of the German federal states, cantonal lists in Switzerland and others. Today the catalogue holds 27,693 schools in 25 countries.
- The real price. We collect fees from the schools' own websites and fee schedules, convert them to euros at European Central Bank rates and show the fee for your child's age. Where a school publishes its extras, we calculate a real annual cost.
- A link to every school. Each profile links to the school's own website: you contact the school directly, we never stand in between.
- Every figure has a source. Beside each fee you will find a link to the page we took it from and the date we checked it. If a school does not publish its fees, we say so. We never estimate.
- One card for every school. The same fields for a village Montessori school and a Swiss boarding school, so that schools can be compared side by side.
Independence
The site is free for families. Schools cannot pay to be listed or to change how they appear. If we ever offer paid placements, they will always be labelled as advertising.
